(San Francisco, CALIF.)--Nominations are in. Voting has begun. And the 2nd Annual FobbNation Music Awards are set for Saturday, Sept. 14 at the monumental Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, Calif.

Island Swagg Entertainment is presenters of the 2013 FMAs.

The venue, located in the Marina District of San Francisco, is one of the City by the Bay’s most photographed spots, according to www.sanfrancisco.travel. The setting alone is a visual treat for fans of ancient Greek and Roman architecture and classical European design.

Place Island Music’s best artists in these colonnades, rotunda and 900-seat theater – it will all add up to an unforgettable celebration of island music and urban island culture.

“Artists and groups from all Polynesian backgrounds are constantly on the grind mastering their talents but have yet to set foot on an international platform where their efforts and hard work are acknowledged,” says a press statement from FobbNation.

They add “just as the West Coast, East Coast and Dirty South regions have crossed over, leaving a musical imprint on the world stage”, island artists from the Polynesian Triangle (formed by Hawai’i, Tahiti and New Zealand) are dedicated to creating mainstream awareness of their sound, culture and diversity.

“Island music is on the rise!” said FobbNation.

There will be live performances by Kingi & Pistallion, SpawnBreezie, Opieum Dream, Finn the Groovah, Tenelle and many more.

FobbNation N’tertainment and Island Swag Entertainment invite everyone to cast their votes for their favorite island artists.

Nominees in 18 categories were submitted by island music fans between Jan. 6, 2013 and March 29, 2013. Voting commenced mid-April and will close July 31, 2013. Only one electronic ballot per IP address is allowed.

The mission of the FobbNation Music Awards is to provide musical entertainment and awareness of the cultural diversity in the Polynesian music community, to the U.S. Mainland audience. Each event will feature live performances and cultural education.

FOBB is an acronym that stands for Fostering Opportunities, Brokering Business. The idea behind the business name was to take a negative term “F.O.B.” as in “fresh off the boat” – and turn it into something positive for the Polynesian and Pacific communities in the U.S.

Executive Producers of the 2013 FMAs are Pati Eneliko with FobbNation N’tertainment and Big Rexx with Island Swag Entertainment.

Vendor space is available and organizers invite businesses to take advantage of opportunities in sponsorship, as ticket outlets, media partners and promotional partners. Pacific Islander organizations and groups are invited to participate. Space is limited.

The concert and awards ceremony, a family event, is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 11 p.m at Palace of Fine Arts at 3301 Lyon St. Presale ticket prices: $30 general admission; $50 VIP.
