(AUCKLAND)--Much to the delight of devoted fans, the highly anticipated third book in Lani Wendt Young's Telesa Book Series, is closer to becoming a reality. Its beautiful cover art was released early this month and book three, "The Bone Bearer" is due out in late July.
"The design is by Talia Brown of Talia Design, photographer is Penina Momoisea and model is Stacie AhChong Levi. All fiercely fabulous Samoan women," Young told tautalatala.com from Auckland. "It's 100 percent Samoan made."
The malu, the traditional Samoan women's tattoo worn by Ah Chong Levi, is the work of Master Tattooist Su'a Sulu'ape Peter.
Readers across the world, including those in Hawai'i, are devouring Young's Telesa books, fictional young adult romance novels set in Samoa, which the author refers to as "Romance, Pasifika style." Inspired by the mythical Telesa, Samoa's spirit women, the series began with "Telesa: The Covenant Keeper", followed by "When Water Burns."
Young, born in Apia, Samoa, is a former high school English teacher, mother of five and niece of Samoan author Albert Wendt. She makes her home in Auckland, New Zealand, with husband Darren Young, known to Lani's followers as the "Hot Man."
